OBERTH-CLASS Space Destroyer

The Oberth Space Destroyers were the first warships ever designed by humanity for use outside of Earth's atmosphere. Designs for the Oberth destroyers began in the year 2000, shortly after the mysterious ASS-1 crash-landed on Earth. The sudden arrival of the extraterrestrial visitor caused widespread panic among the major military powers of the United Nations, and analysts and designers scrambled to come up with defenses against a possible invasion from space. The Oberth destroyers were intended to become Earth's first line of defense against an attack by alien forces. Although the ships represented the most advanced technology available to humanity at the dawn of the new millenium, they were quickly overshadowed and made obsolete by the wonders of overtechnology discovered within the broken hull of the ASS-1.
The designers of the Oberth destroyers created an impressive warship design despite their lack of experience in interstellar warfare. The main armament of the ships consisted of three missile launchers, each containing 6 long-range nuclear missiles (18 total) for use in ship-to-ship combat. The original design for the Oberth also included four front-mounted heavy rail cannons for additional punch, although these were later replaced with beam cannons as overtechnology discoveries made energy weapons practical. The destroyers were also equipped with advanced (for the time) sensors and communications systems, although the UN Spacy lacked FTL sensor and communications technology until years after Space War I.
The first space destroyer to be completed was the Oberth, which was commissioned and put into service in March of 2005. This was quickly followed by the Goddard in June of 2005 and the Tsiolkovsky in September of 2005. However, during initial performance trials the Tsiolkovsky was hijacked by terrorists calling themselves the Anti-United Nations Military Organization. The AUNMO used the Tsiolkovsky to attack a UN spaceship convoy returning from the newly established early warning base on Mars. The terrorist ship quickly overwhelmed and wiped out the unarmed space fleet, and all colonists and UN military personnel aboard were killed. Shortly thereafter the Tsiolkovsky was engaged by the Goddard under the command of Captain Bruno J. Global, and after an extended cat-and-mouse engagement the Tsiolkovsky was destroyed with all hands aboard. This battle represented the first use of overtechnology reaction weaponry in actual combat by humanity.
Following the Tsiolkovsky incident inquiries and investigations stalled the Oberth production program for several years, but in February of 2009 mass production of the space destroyers resumed with the commissioning of the Miranda and Akishima. Between 2009 and 2010 125 destroyers were built and commissioned, and all were in active service when the Bodolza Fleet commenced its final assault on Earth in February of 2010. Unfortunately the Oberth destroyers proved to be no match for the Zentraedi military might, and many were crippled or destroyed. The last surviving Oberth Destroyers where repaired and refitted to be added to the much needed fleet, by 2036 the oberth is still in use for patrols and customs duties. The UN Spacy operates about 70 Oberth class ships now.

WEAPON SYSTEMS:

1. HEAVY MISSILE LAUNCHERS (18): The main armament of the Oberth space destroyers    consisted of 18 heavy missile launchers, each containing an ICBM-like missile intended for anti-spaceship combat. Each launcher contains a single guided nuclear missile that fires upward and then homes in on its designated target (similar to ICBM launchers on nuclear submarines).

  • PRIMARY PURPOSE: Anti-Warship
  • RANGE: 2,000 miles (3,184 km)
  • SPEED: Mach 2+ (1340 mph/2140 kmph) in an atmosphere.
  • BLAST RADIUS: 2,000 feet (610 m)
  • RATE OF FIRE: If necessary, all 18 missiles can be fired at the same time
2. HEAVY BEAM CANNONS (4): The Oberth destroyers were also armed with reflex weapon technology recovered from the wreck of the ASS-1. Four forward-mounted beam cannons were added to the design midway through the development process to greatly increase their effectiveness in anti-spaceship warfare (or so the designers hoped). The cannons are fixed forward and can only fire at targets directly in front of the ship.

    • PRIMARY PURPOSE: Assault
    • SECONDARY PURPOSE: Anti-Warship
    • RANGE: 80 miles (106 km) in space; half in in atmosphere
SYSTEMS OF NOTE:
  • LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS: The Oberth destroyers have sufficient life support to provide breathable air and comfortable temperatures for 500 people for up to 12 months (air is recycled). The system cannot reliably support more than 500 people for more than a few days time (besides, there is very little room in Oberth hulls for extra passengers). The ship has enough food and water onboard to support the crew for up to 6 months (can be extended to 9 months with rationing). Because of their limited stockpiles of food, water and air Obetrh destroyers rarely venture beyond the orbit of Mars.
  • LONG-RANGE LASER/SATELLITE RELAY COMMUNICATIONS: Oberthdestroyers have impressive communications arrays for their time. The communication system has a direct range of 900 miles (1,440 km), which can be boosted indefinitely by using satellites or other spacecraft to relay communications.
  • LONG-RANGE RADAR: The radar array of the Oberth can track and identify up to 200 craft simultaneously. The radar system has a 1,000 mile/1,600 km range.
MECHA COMPLEMENT:
NONE! The Oberth destroyers have a small shuttle bay containing two shuttles for ferrying supplies and passengers between ships. If necessary, this bay can hold up to three variable fighters, but the bay would be crowded almost beyond capacity at this proint. The VFs would have to land and take off in gerwalk mode and cannot convert into any other mode while inside the hangar.

ARMD Class Combat Space Carrier

ARMD II Carrier (as seen connected to the SDF-1 Macross)

BACKGROUND
One of the primary reasons that the SDF-1 Macross was able to pass through frequent battles with aliens was the launching of effectively operated and hard-fighting carrier borne aircraft. It is the Space Carrier ARMD which sustained that, and functioned as both the mothership of and the center of operation for the SDF-1's carrier borne aircraft. Even though these warship were originally constructed as a rig and floating stand for space fighters deployed at such places as the Lagrange Points and above satellite geosynchronous orbit, as the restoration plan of the ASS-1 progressed, they were diverted and hurriedly constructed to be the carrier-based aircraft operation platform. The ARMD technically exist only as a hastily made ships for combining with the SDF-1 Macross.

Various mechanisms were added to the warships when the ARMD was remodelled from a Space-Fighter Rig to an ARMD. The first warship, ARMD-01, connects to the SDF-1's left side, and the second warship, ARMD-02, is on the right side. The deck layout of 01 and 02 are reversed on the left and right (the bridge of 01 is placed starboard, and the bridge of 02 is port), and it can be surmised that the decision for this arrangement was from the conception of the plan to integrate the ships with the SDF-1.
The ARMD were docked with the SDF-1 in 2008.12, and formed one part of the SDF-1's strategic system. They attended the SDF-1's space-launch ceremony in 2009.02. The SDF-1 and its ARMD sustained the attack by the alien "Zentraadi people" during the ceremony and took the drastic step of an emergency fold, together with the Valkyrie squads that had launched from the carrier Prometheus for the protection of the SDF-1. Thereafter, no matter what, the ARMD demonstrated the capabilities of ship-borne aircraft and repelled the attacks of both the Zentraadi and Meltrandi Forces until the SDF-1 Macross returned to Earth from the outer circumference of the Solar System. In the "Minmei Attack", the ARMD rushed into the Bodoru Flagship as both flanks of the SDF-1. It contributed to the crushing of the flagship by simultaneously firing its armaments with the SDF-1.

These versatile ships end up being used by the UN Space for the defence of Earth until 2070 when it is decommissioned.

Note
The designs of the ARMD platforms differ between the TV Series and the Macross:Do You Remember Love Movie. The TV design is designated as the ARMD Type I the stats are the same but it is a cosmetic upgrade only.

WEAPON SYSTEMS:

1.ANTI-SHIP MISSILE LAUNCHERS (2): The primary weapon of the ARMD Space Carriers is a missile launcher designed to destroy celestial objects such as asteroids that may threaten earth, or enemy spaceships moving to invade the planet. Each missile launcher is roughly 40 metres in length for an effective rail gun effect when firing the weapon.
    • PRIMARY PURPOSE: Anti-Celestrial object
    • SECONDARY PURPOSE: Anti-Warship
    • RANGE: 1,000 miles (1,600 km)
2.GUIDED CONVERGING BEAM CANNONS (5): Several beam cannons adorn the surface of the Space Carriers. Identical in design to the Converging Beam Cannons that the SDF-1 features these are the main anti-ship weapons of the ARMD platforms. Due to the placement of the beam cannons, (four facing forward, and four facing aft on both the top and bottom of the carrier,) only four cannons maximum can be brought to bear on any target.
      • PRIMARY PURPOSE: Anti-Warship
      • SECONDARY PURPOSE: Ship-to-Ship Defense
      • RANGE: 200 miles (320 km)
3.ANTI-MECHA LASER TURRETS (12): arrayed with four on the port and starboard sides and four situated towards the front of the vessel yet able to traject to fire behind the anti-mecha lasers are designed to defend against any close in threats to the ARMD platform.
        • PRIMARY PURPOSE: Anti-Aircraft
        • SECONDARY PURPOSE: Anti-Missile
        • RANGE: 60 miles (96 km)

      SYSTEMS OF NOTE:
      • GRAVITY GENERATORS: The ARMD Space Carriers are equipped with gravity generators so as to simulate the effects of gravity within the Carrier and on its decks.
      • LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS: The ARMD Carriers have sufficient life support to provide breathable air and comfortable temperatures for up to 1,500 people for up to 20 years (air was recycled). In an emergency the life support system could support up to 3,500 people at one time. The ship contains enough food and water onboard to support the crew for up to 5 years (with recycling).
      • LONG-RANGE TRACKING SENSORS: The ARMD's are equipped with a complex sensor system that can track and identify up to 1,500 craft simultaneously. The system had a 2,000 mile/3,200 km range.
      • SUBLIGHT ENGINES: The ARMD Space Carriers are equipped with impulse engines that can propel the craft at speeds up to 0.20 speed of light (37,200 miles per second) in space. Note that these engines are mainly intended for rapid movement inside a planetary system and are not suited for long voyages between star systems.
      • SUBSPACE MASS SENSORS: As part of the ARMD's sensor systems, the Space Carriers are equipped with subspace sensors that can detect mass readings and movement of objects up to 93 million miles distant from the carrier. Readings taken with the subspace sensors are not very detailed and cannot detect objects of less than 60,000 kg (this includes most Zentraedi and UN Spacy mecha).

Mars Base Sara and Apollo Lunar Base

When the Earth was decimated by Britai 7018s Zentradi fleet there attack missed the two basses on the Moon and Mars. The Zentran seemed to be more interested in the SDF-1 Macross instead of the rest of humanity, they did leave a small partol fleet and several skirmishes did occour over the Moon and near Mars. Over 13,000 people are still in on these colonies with no way to get back to earth and the threat of total annihilation and no hope of help only the strong and heroic will get through this desperate hour

Apollo Lunar Base is the secret site of the SDF-2 Megaroad the sister ship to the Macross, the last of the UN Spacy fleet orbits here which consist of.
        4. ARMD Space Carriers
        6. Oberth Class Space Missile Destroyers.
On the base its self a full complement of Destroids and and Valkyrie Variable Fighters are available.
Zentradi ships have not attempted destroy the base but have tested the defences of the base to almost breaking point

Mars Base Sara did not have the defences that the Apollo Lunar Base had, one squadron of Valkyrie Variable Fighters are all that protects the base. The base is abandoned when the SDF-1 Macross lands there to refuel and gather supplies on October 5th 2009 and was destroyed when a Zentradi sneak attack trapped the Macross on the surface of Mars.

(This part something that I added my self to the Macross II univrese if being used for a Macross DYRL/Macross II RPG game it can be ignored, again its just a guide line. Some idea for the adventure set in this section include being appart of a squadron of Valkyires that
are protecting Mars or the Moon from random Zentradi attacks and living on the bases slowly running out of supplies and food and hope...)

        Zentradi Attack

On February 7th 2009 the Alien StarShip is christened the SDF-1 (Super Dimension Fortress) Macross. And made ready for its maiden voyage into space. Before any such thing could happen and unknown enemy attacked the Defence Fleet orbiting earth then proceeded to orbital bomb earth from beyond the atmosphere. Only a few of the hostile alien ships where destroyed by the Earth Defence Fleet they were no match for the for them in the end, back on earth the order by UN leaders is given to fire the two working GRAND CANNONS which take out a a good portion of enemies before being totally destroyed.

It was at this time that three young pilots Hikaru Ichijyo, Hayao Kakizaki and Maximillan Jenius attached to  Major Roy Focker's Skull Squadron on the CVS-101 Prometheus. Fresh out of academy they are thrown dead long into combat.

Soon after the assault on Macross City and the Macross Fortress which narrowly avoids destruction by making a space fold which sends the ship to the edge of the solar system along with the ARMD 01 and 02 attached to her and the 50,000+ inhabitants that where moved onto the ship just before the assault began.

The rest of Earth was not so lucky the alien fleet (which the crew of the Macross Fortress find out later to be called Zentradi) leave nothing but destruction behind. Britai 7018s fleet obliterate the earth leaving few survivors, then continue there chase of the Macross.

The colonist on Mars and the Moon remain relatively safe for a short time and the last few surviving Missile Destroyers and ARMD platform carriers attempt to protect them until the Macross can return or even if it ever will.
(NOTE: this is purely made up information I have put here which could be used as an adventure idea. EG the crew of an ARMD or some heros on Mars Base could try to defend it from some remaining Zentran ship left behind to patrol the remnants of earth.. MORE to come on this in later post)

        THE MACROSS' VOYAGE HOME...

Stuck alone in space with nowhere to go the SDF-1 Macross and her crew learn to survive. They battle the perusing Zentradi fleet with everything they have got and to get back home

(As Macross fans you should all know this story by now feel the history behing the Macross and its journey home can be played out may ways in an Role Playing Game environment)

        The Macross II Timeline

(NOTE: I found this information originally on the ROBOTECH website forum..Please view the rest of the thread)

Prior to the introduction of Macross Plus in 1994, the Macross universe was considerably different from what it is today. The post-Space War 1 continuity was based almost entirely on the DYRL version of events, and was strongly influenced by its Gundam roots.
At the time Big West was producing Macross II for Macross's 10th anniversary, Shoji Kawamori was adamantly insisting he had no interest in creating sequels, and Studio Nue's was also not available. Big West, acting independently, started developing the expanded continuity in partnership with studios AIC and ONIRO, and software developer Masaya. DYRL was treated as the official version of Space War 1, andMacross II was produced as a canon sequel to the movie. After the release of Macross Plus and the start of development on Macross 7, the previously established continuity no longer fit the ongoing story, and was placed on official alternate universe status.
For a good while now, I and several other fans of Macross II have been pursuing our shared hobby... translating the official publications about Macross II: Lovers Again, and the original Macross continuity. As a sort of late Launch Day present to the fan community, we decided to share a brief version of our annotated timeline of the original Macross continuity.
(In the interest of simplicity, we'll leave out the commonly known details of Space War 1 and such. You will note this timeline contradicts the current official continuity in several places)

        Space War 1 (2009-2010)
2009 January: Engineers from Stonewell and Bellcom are transferred to South Ataria Island to conduct space testing of the VF-1 Valkyrie.
2009 February: Space War 1 begins. Combat with the Zentradi provides design feedback that will be used in the development of the VF-4. Soon after, the SP-1 Super Packs and GBP-1 Protect Armor are introduced.
2009 May: Stonewell/Bellcom begin work on the VF-X-4 prototype. The prototype is later lost along with all Earth-based production and testing facilities during orbital bombardments by the Zentradi.
2009 May - 2010 August: At some point in this span, technicians from Stonewell, Bellcom, and Shinnakasu band together under the leadership of Dr. H. Takachihoff, and develop the VE-1 ELINT Seeker, an electronic signals intelligence valkyrie based on the VT-1.
NB: These technicians will found the Takachihoff Company in the aftermath of Space War 1
2010 September 11: Space War 1 formally ends with the signing of the cease-fire agreement. Gorg Boddole Zer fires on the Laplamiz mobile fortress, destroying it and thousands of his own ships. The Minmay Attack is executed, and the Boddole Zer mobile fortress is destroyed by the surviving Zentradi and Meltrandi ships, led by the SDF-1.

        The Reconstruction Era (2010-2036)
During this period, numerous small-scale conflicts with rogue Zentradi and Meltrandi ships occur. The Zentradi aggressors are defeated by the U.N. Spacy fleet under the command of Vrlitwhai 7018.
Quamzin 03350 briefly attempts to live among the humans after recovering fro his injures, rejects Earth's culture, briefly leads bands of renegades against the U.N. Spacy, and flees into space with one of the Zentradi rogue factions.
At some point prior to 2019, Maximilian Jenius and Milia 639 are married.
Due to the drain on resources imposed by the vast environmental restoration programs, rebuilding the fleet, and the interstellar emigration program, no new variable fighters are developed during this period. Existing designs (VF-1, VF-4) are upgraded with new technology as time passes. The VF-1 is given a space performance upgrade and becomes the VF-1R (VF-1AR/JR/SR).
Reconstruction work begins on the SDF-1, fitting the ship with a new bridge, new main gun, and a number of other improvements. Work on the ship is halted in 2036 by the Neld fleet incident, and is never resumed.
2014: (Macross: Flashback 2012) The SDF-2 Megaroad-01, the first of many colonization ships, is launched under the command of Misa Ichijyo. The ship is escorted by several Zentradi battleships, and equipped with the latest VF-4A Siren variable fighters.
NB: We have no explanation for this, but all of the source books we have for this timeline give the year of the SDF-1's departure from Earth as 2014. Why? We can only guess, but it's definitely not a typo.
2018: Lott Sheen is born on Earth.
2019: Komilia Maria Jenius is born to U.N. Spacy top ace Maximilian Jenius and his new wife, former Meltrandi ace Milia 639.
NB: In the DYRL version of events, Max and Milia are not married until after Space War 1 ends. 2019 was selected as her birth year to accommodate her starring role as a 17-year old U.N. Spacy trainee in Macross 2036, one of two canon games in the timeline at the time.
2030: Dr. H. Takachihoff, the father of the VF-1 and VF-1R series, passes away.

        Quamzin's Revenge (2036-2037)
Having escaped Earth in the years after Space War 1, Quamzin 03350 returns to Earth at the head of two Zentradi fleets, one in 2036, and one in 2037, in two disastrous attempts to revenge himself upon the U.N. Spacy and uncover the secret of song, for use against the Meltrandi.
NB: Dialogue in Macross 2036 establishes that this is the same person who served aboard the Vrlitwhai fleet's flagship during Space War 1, and was shot by Roy. He survived, and now sports a prosthetic right eye.
2036: (Macross 2036: the Neld Fleet Incident) Quamzin 03350 returns at the head of the Neld fleet of the Zentradi, and launches a multi-pronged attack on the U.N. Spacy. The Minmay Attack is only partially effective, as Quamzin has braced his troops for it.
Using a "cross-fold" system, Quamzin redirects Vrlitwhai's ship from Mars to Neptune during a training exercise, forcing U.N. Spacy trainees Komilia Jenius and Lott Sheen into battle. The Neld fleet also attacks U.N. Spacy forces at Mars and the captured Esbeliben factory satellite, before being defeated by the U.N. Spacy fleet.
Quamzin escapes the destruction of the fleet with his accomplices, Grimzo and Jinna.
Komilia Jenius is promoted to 1st Lieutenant and given command of Red Horns squadron.
2037: (Macross: Eternal Love Song) Quamzin returns again, this time at the head of the Burado main fleet, having convinced Boddole Burado that the songs of humans hold the key to victory over the Meltrandi. The fleet is also braced for the Minmay Attack, using an old protoculture communications system to block out the offending broadcasts.
Zentradi mecha are detected in the airspace over a U.N. Spacy training center on the moon. The Minmay Attack proves ineffective against their mothership, and a fierce battle follows. The Burado fleet presses its numerical advantage and attacks U.N. Spacy bases on the moon. Meltrandi troops from the Leplendis fleet attack both the U.N. Spacy and the Zentradi, forcing the U.N. Spacy into retreat.
After retreating to Earth to rebuild their fleet's combat potential, the U.N. Spacy promotes Hayato Kiryu to Major, and gives him command of Hound squadron aboard the Prometheus II, a new Daedalus II-class ARMD. Zentradi and Meltrandi troops attempt to infiltrate the civilian population. Meltrandi ace Misty meets Hayato Kiryu.
The Zentradi Geran branch fleet and a Meltrandi scouting force are both destroyed. Major Kiryu discovers Misty is a Meltrandi while moving to investigate a battle between Zentradi and Meltrandi forces on Earth. Hound squadron rescues the Meltrandi pilots.
Based on the testimony of her spies, Moruk Leplendis declares humanity to be the protoculture, and orders all of her troops off Earth immediately. Boddole Burado orders a large-scale offensive on Earth to avenge the Geran branch fleet. U.N. Spacy officer Lyle Craze defects to the Burado fleet. Meltrandi ace Misty defects to the U.N. Spacy and singlehandedly saves the Prometheus II from a Zentradi attack using a "borrowed" fighter.
The U.N. Spacy and Zentradi attack the fleeing Leplendis fleet, destroying most of it. Lyle Craze is captured while leading an offensive agaisnt the overextended U.N. Spacy fleet, and reveals the existence of the communications filter, which blocks out the Minmay Attack. U.N. Spacy forces recapture the moon, and launch an attack on the communications system, which is aboard Quamzin's cruiser. Quamzin's ship is hit by the Prometheus II's Daedalus attack, Quamzin is defeated and the communications filter is destroyed.
The U.N. Spacy forces launch the Minmay Attack against the now-unprotected Burado fleet with the support of Lyle Craze's Zentradi branch fleet, causing most of the Burado main fleet to turn on Boddole Burado, and allowing VF-4ST Strike Sirens piloted by Misty and Major Kiryu to enter the Burado mobile fortress and kill Boddole Burado with heavy particle beam rifles.
NB: This conflict marks the first use of the VF-4 Siren, VF-4SP Super Siren, and VF-4ST Strike Siren, as well as the introduction of two major technologies... beam gunpods, and funnels.

        Reconstruction Resumed (2037-2054)
No new Zentradi or Meltrandi attacks occur during this period. Reconstruction efforts continue on Earth.
2050: The Takachihoff Company starts development of a civilian-use variable aircraft, the VC series.
2051: The Takachihoff Company debuts the VC-051, a civilian-use variable plane with no battroid mode designed for use in search & rescue operations and firefighting.

The Second Space War (May 2054 - December 2054)
The Zentradi invasion of 2054 marks the single largest conflict with the Zentradi since Space War 1. The prolonged conflict caused enormous damage, and cost the U.N. Spacy most of its fleet. Very few details are available about this conflict.
2054 May 6: Rogue Zentradi forces attack the Macross-class emigration ship Million Star only 1.8 light years outside the Sol system.
2054 May: The U.N. Spacy establishes a defense perimeter at Pluto's orbit. The defense relies heavily on the Minmay attack to counter the numerical superiority of the Zentradi fleet.
2054 December: The Zentradi invasion grinds to a halt against the Pluto defense perimeter, and heavy losses are sustained on both sides. The war ends, but the U.N. Spacy has lost most of the former Vrlitwhai branch fleet, and many of its other ships.
Shortly after the end of the conflict, the U.N. Spacy captures another Zentradi factory satellite, which provides the U.N. Spacy with an enormous amount of new technology.

        The Overtechnology Boom (2055-2092)
Between 2055 and 2092, the technology obtained from the newly captured factory satellite enables human engineers to dramatically improve military and civilian technology. During this period, all of the familiar ships and mecha seen in Macross IIare developed.
2060s: The U.N. Spacy develops several new classes of ship, exploiting their improved grasp of the overtechnology used by the Zentradi and Meltrandi.
The VF-XX Zentradi Valkyrie, a Generation 1.5 variable fighter, is developed as a practical demonstration of the new overtechnoloy systems discovered aboard the captured factory satellite.
The VC-051 gains popularity as a leisure aircraft, and sales to recreational users begin to rival the sales to the civil authorities.
2072: The VF-2 Valkyrie II, the first Generation 2 variable fighter, is introduced. The fighter sports a larger battroid mode for improved close combat performance.
NB: The VF-2(A) exists only as design sketches, which depict an aircraft almost identical to the VF-2SS, but with only one short, thick beam gun on the right side of the head, and several airbrakes scattered across the frame.
2075: Hibiki Kanzaki and Sylvie Gena are born on Earth.
2079: The Takachihoff Company releases their second civilian valkyrie, the VC-079, designed for use as an observation plane. It quickly becomes popular with SNN and other news agencies.
2081: The VF-2SS Valkyrie II, a specialized space variable fighter, is introduced, along with its Super Armed Pack system.
2082: A rogue Zentradi fleet attacks the U.N. Spacy, and is swiftly dealt a crushing defeat by the U.N. Spacy's new ships and fighters. Hibiki Kanzaki is inspired to pursue a career in journalism after watching news coverage of the battle.
2086: The VF-2JA Icarus, a specialized atmospheric variable fighter, is introduced.
2092: (Macross II) War begins between the U.N. Spacy and the Mardook Empire.

United Earth Government/Pre Space War One

On July 17th 1999 an alien spacecraft crash landed on Earth and changed the course of human history. The ship named the initially as "Alien StarShip one" brought with it new technology and new information the galaxy around humanity.
At the same time as the crash the world was in crisis as the United Nations attempted to make peace across the world knowing full well that the makers of the the alien vessel would come looking for it. Despite Anti UN terrorist groups causing trouble the UN prevaled and created a United Earth Government and learnt more about about the space ship that was left for them.

The technology found was used from everyday vehicles to newly built space ships like the ARMD Space Carrier and Oberth Missile Destroyer built to defend the planet.

A description and history of the ASS-1 can be found here
and here for the SDF-1 Macross

Mars and the Moon were colonised by humans and the world seemed to be progressing.... Until one fateful day.

(More information to be added, most of the Macross II timeline from this period pretty much follows the original TV series except a few small things which will be added here.)

        Introduction: Do You Remember Love?

Welome to the Super Space Fortress Macross blog. This site is dedicated to the "Parallel World" that only includes Macross: Do You Remember Love (Movie) Macross 2036 and Eternal Love Song and finally Macross II Lovers Again. The information provided in this blog will be for any RPG conversion of Macross (EG Mekton Zeta) or the RPG stats can be found on line for the Palladium Books Robotech/Macross II role playing game

The idea came from this when I found a timeline (see next post) of the Macross II Lovers Again universe, it does cancel out Macross Plus, 7 and Frontier however. I have compiled all this information from the web or it is based on conjecture. Where possible I will post links to stats I have found from other pages or I will make my own according to the world of Macross II.

        Hope you enjoy
